What is the Goulds Community Development Corporation Dream Home Raffle?
Goulds Community Development Corporation Dream Home Raffle is a large fundraiser. The raffle aims to raise
funds for GCDC in its continuing effort to provide assistance to Goulds underprivileged. In addition to supporting
GCDC, the raffle will be giving away prizes, of which the grand prize is a brand new home.
What are the prizes?
How long will it take to receive my ticket(s) in the mail?
At least two (2) weeks. All confirmed paid tickets purchased before an entry deadline are included
in a drawing even if the customer's portion of the ticket arrives after the drawing date.
Is this Dream Home Raffle legal?
Yes it is. FSS 849 is the governing statute for non-profit organizations to conduct raffles as a
means of raising funds.
Will the drawing be audited??
Yes, an independent accounting agency will audit the raffle.
How much is a Raffle ticket?
Goulds CDC is requesting a donation of $150 per ticket.
How many raffle tickets will be offered?
35,000 tickets will be made availble.ber. If fewer tickets are sold, Goulds CDC reserves the right to
extend the Entry deadline date.
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning the Goulds CDC Dream Home are based on the number of tickets sold. If all
tickets are sold the odds of winning the Grand Prize are 1 in 35,000.
How many prizes are awarded?
In addition to the grand prize, there will be three (3) other prizes as well as 50 Mystery Prizes
(At the discretion of the Goulds CDC).
Who benefits from this raffle?
The prize winners, the Goulds CDC and ultimately the Goulds, FL community.
When does the raffle start and when does it end?
The raffle begins on Saturday, February 9, 2009 and ends on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
Do I have to be present to win?
No. All winners will be notified by email, mail, and phone as according to the information provided from
the Ticket Tracking log.
How will the winners be notified?
Winners will be notified by phone, email and USPS mail based on the contact information previously provided.
Who can enter the Raffle?
Any person 18 years of age or older. Employees and members of the Board of Directors of Goulds Community
Development Corporation, employees of their agents, consultants, attorney, independent accountant firm, their spouses and
children living in the same household are excluded from participating and are not eligible to win a prize. All federal, state,
local laws and regulations apply. The raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law. An affidavit of eligibility, provided
by Goulds Community Development Corporation, may be required from prize winners.
Are donations to the Goulds Community Development Corporation tax-deductible?
Yes.
Are raffle prizes considered income?
Yes and are the responsibility of the Selected Winners. Selected winners must sign a notarized statment
ablsoving GCDC, its Directors, staff, managent, consultants and agents from any responsibility for the payment of any taxes
due the IRS. In addition, GCDC will act in accordance with federal law. All prize winners will be required
to submit an IRS Form 5750 and a W-2G in order to be awarded the prize.
How do I redeem my prize?
Prize winners will be contacted according to the contact information provided at the time of ticket issue.
In addition to a list of winners posted on the GCDC Dream House raffle web site, a list of winners will be posted
on this website. A list of the winners may also be obtained from Goulds Community Development Corporation by sending
a writtent request along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Goulds CDC, P.O. Box 700031, Goulds, FL 33170,
within two weeks of the Grand Prize Drawing date.
